Position Summary:

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of an assigned RN.
• Collaborate with various disciplines to meet healthcare goals.
• Adhere to the patient plan of care to assist in improving patient processes and outcomes.
• Engage in learning experiences that enhance your nursing competencies.

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: You must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program, with plans to complete it within 12 months of hire. Remember, you’ll need to graduate and pass the NCLEX within 3 months of graduation!

Certification/Licenses: A current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Skills:

• Excellent communication abilities.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret technical reports and charts.
• Ability to write concise and clear reports.
• Composure under stress and in challenging situations.
• Proficient computer skills for data entry and report generation.

Expanded Duties Training:

• Peripheral intravenous access and removal.
• Recording of intake and output (I&Os).
• Foley catheter insertion and removal.
• NG tube insertion and removal.
• Suture and staple removal.
• Unit-specific point-of-care testing (POCT).
• Bedside monitoring including telemetry and capnography.
• Additional training opportunities such as Basic Dysrhythmia Course and De-Escalation Training.

Working Conditions:

Supervision: You will report directly to the Nurse Manager or designee for your essential job duties and daily responsibilities.

Environment: Be prepared for a fast-paced setting with irregular hours. You may encounter bloodborne pathogens and be exposed to x-rays and infectious diseases. Your role may also involve unpredictable situations, including potential violence from patients.

Physical Requirements:

This role demands physical stamina and the ability to handle emergency situations. You should be comfortable with prolonged standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and heavy lifting. Good body mechanics are essential, as you will frequently lift, position, and transfer patients or equipment. Normal hearing and visual acuity, along with manual dexterity and fine motor coordination, are also required.
