A leading manufacturing company is seeking a Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. As a key member of the plant’s management team, this role is responsible for driving financial performance, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring sound financial decision-making. Additionally, the Controller will manage accounting processes for government contracts, including POC (Percentage of completion method) accounting and financial forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team in general accounting, job cost accounting, and inventory validation.
• Oversee POC accounting functions, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
• Ensure strong internal control processes for financial transactions, including P&L, balance sheet, working capital, and cash flow management.
• Conduct financial analysis to support business objectives and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Coordinate audit, internal control, and SOX compliance initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
• Cultivate a results-driven culture within the finance and accounting departments.
• Manage month-end close processes and review account reconciliations.
• Prepare reports and presentations for business performance meetings.
• Establish annual burden rates and oversee physical inventory counts.
• Assist in major customer and vendor contract negotiations.
• Develop and justify capital expenditure proposals.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience.
• CPA or CPM certification preferred.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry is required.
• Strong understanding of POC accounting is preferred.
• Proficiency in financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting.
• Familiarity with large ERP and forecasting systems
• Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
