What you’ll do: Monitor database health, perform routine maintenance, and apply patches to ensure system stability. Assist in performance tuning, space management, and capacity planning for mission-critical environments. Support backup and recovery operations using Oracle tools and ZFS appliances. Respond to alerts and incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Collaborate with senior DBAs and system administrators to maintain secure, optimized, and compliant database configurations. Document system changes and contribute to configuration and capacity reports. What you’ll need to succeed: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field. 0–2 years of experience in database administration or related IT support roles. Foundational knowledge of relational database systems, particularly Oracle. Familiarity with database performance monitoring, backup, and recovery procedures. Understanding of basic system administration tasks, including memory and storage management. Ability to follow standard operating procedures and respond to system alerts and incidents. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. Active DoD Secret Clearance, or ability to obtain one.
