Next Gen Pastor - The Orchard ChurchPosition OverviewThe Next Gen Pastor provides a balanced program of ministry to children, students, and college-age individuals by equipping staff members in PreK, Kids, and Student ministries while primarily focusing on college student discipleship. This full-time ministerial position reports to the Lead Pastor and is essential in developing the next generation of disciples at The Orchard Church.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the ministry team leader for children, student, and college ministriesLead in accordance with The Orchard Church's core values, mission, and visionEquip and provide leadership for PreK, Kids, and Student ministry staffDevelop, implement, and grow a comprehensive college ministry programCreate discipleship strategies specifically for college students and younger generationsSupport and enhance family ministry initiativesManage annual operational budgets for Next Gen ministry areasDevelop lay-leaders to help manage responsibilities (Ephesians 4:11-12)Plan and assess ministry activities designed to reach college studentsRecruit church members and guests to attend college ministry programsQualificationsPreferred Licensed or Ordained MinisterMoral character consistent with The Orchard Church's Constitution, Bylaws, and Statement of FaithMinimum of 5 years' experience in church ministerial environment with focus on youth/next generation ministryPreferred ministerial degree with substantiated leadership experienceStrong personal faith and committed prayer lifeUnderstanding of current events, college/youth culture, and social mediaRequired SkillsEffective communication with all levels of staff, community, and particularly college-age individualsAbility to interpret and respond to personal and confidential situationsManagement of multiple priorities and eventsProficiency with MS Office, internet, email, and social media resourcesExperience with digital platforms and communication tools relevant to youth/college ministryCore CompetenciesLeadership and influenceInitiative and strong work ethicTeamwork and collaborationPlanning and organizingTolerance for stressExcellent communication skillsWorking ConditionsTravel to various locations and facilities requiredBoth indoor and outdoor work in various venuesNot an hourly position - may be called upon for ministry after regular hoursSome physical demands including light lifting and travel capabilitiesOffice environment with potential exposure to various community settingsMust manage multiple demands on time and energyThis position offers an opportunity to significantly impact college students and younger generations while working with a dedicated ministry team in a supportive church environment.The position description is not a contract for employment, and either you or the church may terminate employment at any time, for any reason.
