THE ROLE
Boat Rocker Media is seeking a dynamic individual who takes initiative, feels passionately about their work and will support the Boat Rocker Creative Affairs team on a variety of new and ongoing projects. Our ideal candidate is enrolled in film and media studies, literature studies or a related field, and is eager to learn about the media industry and adapt to the fast-paced, ever changing environment.

Key information regarding this position:
  • Compensation for this role will be minimum wage.
  • This is a contract position  starting June 3, 2025, ending August 22, 2025.
  • This will be a full time position (40 hours per week) Monday-Friday.
  • This role is part of a hybrid work model and will require you to work from our Los Angeles office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) and 2 days from home (Monday & Friday).
  • Only students pursuing a relevant area of study, or recent graduates with a relevant area of study will be considered for this position; those who are pursuing or have graduated in a non-relevant field will not qualify.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the department’s filing systems, databases (including Airtable submission logs), and other administrative tasks
  • Draft meeting minutes and distribute accordingly
  • Manage various team calendars and coordinate meetings
  • Review creative materials and compose coverage
  • Ad hoc research projects for the scripted team, non-scripted team, and production team. Included but not limited to reading trades, analyzing viewership data, and researching information for projects in development
  • Create talent, writer and director lists for projects in development
  • Support ongoing production matters as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have one (1) previous internship and/or professional office experience.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and problem-solving approach
  • Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and efficient
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Sharp creative instincts with a general understanding of the television landscape
  • Understanding of story structure, character development and written prose is an asset
  • A self-starter with a keen interest to learn
  • Confidence in person and on the phone
  • Enthusiasm and passion for TV
INTERNS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO
  • Develop creative critique and analysis of television scripts and other creative materials
  • Participate in meetings with creatives, business affairs, production and other departments
  • Gain industry knowledge and skills
  • Interact with and assist other departments including non-scripted development and production
  • Network with the employees at Boat Rocker Media, build connections and gain exposure to different opportunities in the industry
  • Participate in social events and education sessions to enhance the internship experience
