Job Description

The Associate Chief Information Officer (ACIO), a senior member of the Information Technology (IT) leadership team, reports directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). The ACIO provides leadership, direction, and administration of all aspects of the IT department; supports the provision of patient care through the efficient and effective application of IT services including, but not limited to, computer operations, technical support, and system analysis; ensures positive and beneficial relationships with departmental customers; provides excellent customer service; implements and supports new information systems; participates in operational and capital budgeting and compliance with those budgets; evaluates new and existing computer equipment, software and processes, recommending changes as appropriate; provides leadership and management of the IT department personnel with coaching, empowerment, and a collaborative environment; and supports each person's inward needs for recognition, inclusion, appreciation, safe job environment and promotion through excellent one-on-one communications. As the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), also reporting directly to the CIO, the ACIO is responsible for securing the organization's data and technology infrastructure; leading the development and implementation of strategies and operations to protect data; safeguarding sensitive information; and ensuring the organization complies with legal and regulatory standards related to cybersecurity. This includes leading the development and implementation of a strong security awareness training program for employees to promote a culture of cybersecurity across the organization; ensuring that the objectives of the organization's cybersecurity program are in line with the goals of the organization; identifying, communicating, and mitigating security risks; overseeing security incident detection, response, and recovery; and developing and enforcing security policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and protocols that align with business goals and regulatory requirements. The CISO is authorized and required to bypass the CIO and report directly to the SRHC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in any case where the risk associated with an IT operation exceeds the organization’s risk appetite as defined by the CEO. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science / Information Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics with computer related emphasis or 8 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree. Six years of experience in hospital information technology applications. Three years of healthcare information systems supervisory experience.
