Job Title: Senior Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager / Early Project Manager – Healthcare Construction Company Overview: Our client is a dynamic, growing general contractor with nearly $100M in annual revenue, specializing in commercial and healthcare construction projects. Position Overview: We are actively seeking a Senior Project Engineer , Assistant Project Manager , or early-stage Project Manager to join our team. This individual will work closely with project teams on a series of healthcare-related projects, primarily for Kaiser Permanente facilities across the Bay Area. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial construction background, an interest in healthcare construction, and the flexibility to commute periodically to our Palo Alto office as well as project sites in South San Francisco and Santa Clara. Key Responsibilities: Support or manage day-to-day construction activities from preconstruction through project closeout. Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and design professionals to ensure project success. Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, budgets, schedules, and project documentation. Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, project specifications, and healthcare-specific building codes. Assist with project meetings, manage action items, and maintain clear, proactive communication with stakeholders. Engage in field operations and occasional travel to multiple project sites in the Bay Area (South SF, Santa Clara, and others). Contribute to quality control, risk management, and project delivery excellence. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience). 3–8 years of commercial construction experience. Interest in or experience with OSHPD (Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development) or DSA (Division of the State Architect) projects is highly preferred. Ability and willingness to commute to Palo Alto office and various Bay Area project sites. Strong understanding of project management, contract administration, scheduling, and budgeting. Proficiency with construction management platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.). Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Self-driven, collaborative, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. OSHA 30 certification (preferred). Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience. Performance bonuses.
